In February there were rumors about ZTE working on a smartwatch called ZTE Quartz and its picture were revealed on several websites. Thanks to a tipster for Android Police we get some details about ZTE’s first Android Wear smartwatch which is ZTE Quartz ZW10. These pictures are the very first detailed pictures of ZTE Quartz ZW10.
Google released its Android Wear 2.0 in Feb 2017 and the company claimed that was the biggest update for Google’s smartwatch OS. LG Watch Style and Watch Sport were first two Android Wear 2.0 smart watches. It was rumored that ZTE will launch a smartwatch with Android Wear 2.0 at MWC 2017.
The specifications of ZTE Quartz ZW10 were already available in February due to a leaked image of Bluetooth SIG Certification details. The new pictures posted on Android Police reveal almost the same details.
ZTE Quartz ZW10 comes with a metal design with non-numeric hour marks on bezel. ZTE Quartz ZW10 will not support Android Pay as the device comes without NFC. The device will provide a 3G connectivity and will run Android Wear 2.0 atop 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.
The pricing, features and launch date is still unknown. It seems that ZTE is really fond of the Quartz word as it has already launched a smartphone with the same name in 2015. ZTE USA‘s CEO, has already hinted that the ZTE’s Quartz ZW10 smartwatch will have a better battery life as compared to other Android Wear watches already available in market.
ZTE Quartz ZW10 will see more intense competition with already popular devices in market which include LG Sport and Style, Huawei Watch 2 and recently introduced designer smartwatches.
