How to Mute Notifications From Twitter Users Through Advanced Filters

Twitter announced a new feature to mute accounts notification for account that do not follow you. You can now snooze notification through Advanced Filters. Twitter has been working on improving user experience by introducing advanced filters. These filters will allow users to mute the users having default profile photo, unconfirmed email address and phone numbers.

Twitter users can make use of these filters through web browser version of Twitter by following these steps:

  1. Go to Notifications
  2. Click on Settings
  3. Select the options that best suit your preferences through preferred filters option

How to Mute Notifications From Twitter Users Through Advanced Filters

Android and iOS users can find the advanced filters option in Notifications timeline under the gear icon.

To set filters using Twitter for iOS:

  1. Go to your Notifications timeline
  2. Tap on the gear icon
  3. Tap Advanced filters.
  4. Drag the slider next to your preferred filter(s) to turn on.

To set filters using Twitter for Android:

  1. Go to your Notifications timeline
  2. Tap on the gear icon
  3. Tap Advanced filters.
  4. Check the box of your preferred filter(s) to turn on.
