A recent report published by research firm Counterpoint Research has revealed that Huawei has become the second largest smartphone manufacturer. The Chinese manufacturer Huawei who had strong sales in the month of June and July has even overtaken Apple. Although this might be a temporary position in the ranking but is still a big achievement by Huawei.

There is no doubt that Huawei is gaining popularity worldwide with its successful marketing strategy and pocket friendly prices. Huawei has recently manufactured some high end devices like Mate 9, Honor 9 and Honor 10 which have earned a good reputation for the company.
From Counterpoint’s Research Director Peter Richardson:
“This is a significant milestone for Huawei, the largest Chinese smartphone brand with a growing global presence. It speaks volumes for this primarily network infrastructure vendor on how far it has grown in the consumer mobile handset space in the last three to four years. The global scale Huawei has been able to achieve can be attributed to its consistent investment in R&D and manufacturing, coupled with aggressive marketing and sales channel expansion.”
Huawei might have managed to climb to second largest smartphone manufacturer position but the fact is that with iPhone 8 coming soon this is just short term ranking. Huawei will have to change its marketing strategy and expand globally to capture more markets. Currently Huawei is relying on local markets and operator-centric markets in Europe, Latin American and Middle East.
Huawei has already announced to debut its Mate 10 on October 16, 2017. Mate 10 will be powered by the new Kirin 970 chipset which comes with an AI computing platform.
