Sending money using an online service is not a new concept. Google has recently added a feature to send money using Gmail App on android phones. There are already several services which allow you to send money online. These services include PayPal, WePay, MoneyBookers and Venmo. All these services have proven to be an effective way to send and receive money using a debit card, prepaid card and credit card.
Google which already has a money transfer service called Google Wallet which allows you to send money to anyone having an email address or phone number. This service was available to desktop users but recently the feature is made available to Android users. Google has integrated Google Wallet to its Android App which will allow you to send money using your Android phone. Please find the step by step tutorial on how to use Gmail to send money.
Send Money With Gmail
- Open the Gmail app on your Android Device.
- In the bottom right corner of the screen, tap to compose an email.
- In the top right, tap Send money.
- Enter the amount you want to send and choose a payment method.
- Tap Continue.
- Add a memo (this is optional).
- Tap Attach money.
- To send the email, tap .
- You can even save this email as a draft and send it later.
If you are at the receiving end all you have to do is add a debit card to you Gmail account, when you receive money through Gmail, the payment will be automatically transferred to your debit card. You can claim money sent to you with three steps.
Receive Money With Gmail
- Open the Gmail app.
- Open the message with attached money.
- Tap Transfer to bank Add debit card.
- Enter your card details.
- Tap Claim money.
That’s it, your money will be directly funded to your attached debit card. This feature is currently available for US and UK customers only. Hopefully Google will roll out this feature globally. Although this is not a revolutionary feature with so many companies offering a similar service to its customers, but the main advantage of this service is that with so many Android users out there this will be a great option.
