Samsung is one of the pioneers of wearable fitness trackers and smartwatches. A recent entry to this line is the Gear Fit2 Pro. It is the improved and enhanced version of Gear Fit2 which was released last year. The Gear Fit2 was water resistant up to 30 min in 5 ft of water, Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro has improved water resistance which can be rated up to 164 feet.
Gear Fit2 Pro can now be used to count pool laps and log long swims thanks to Samsungs partnership with Speedo which provides tracking app for aquatic activities. A new revised strap and latch design will allow a more tighter and secure fit and prevent accidental lose in intense activities.
The Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro has a 1.5-inch 216x432px curved Super AMOLED display, GPS, a 200mAh battery, Bluetooth 4.2, an integrated GPS, 4GB built in memory and it weighs just 34 grams. It runs on Samsung’s Tizen OS. Gear Fit2 Pro is capable of identifying and recording the type of activity, it can detect whether the person is running, swimming or playing tennis. Gear Fit2 Pro also has support for music playback.
Samsung has not yet announced the price of Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro but it is expected that it will start from $200. Gear Fit2 Pro will be compatible with both Android and iOS.
