Evan Blass @evleaks in a recent tweet claimed that the second generation Google Pixel handsets will be launched on October 5 2017. He also confirmed that the Pixel 2 devices will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 836. As we all know that VentureBeat’s Evan Blass is a very reliable serial leaker and even Google’s own record shows that it has launched several devices on October 4 last year.
Android Police which is also a very reliable source claimed that Google is expected to launch a new Chromebook and a smaller version of Google Home along with Pixel 2 devices. Second claim of Evan Blass is that the Google Pixel 2 devices will be powered by Snapdragon 836 processor which is one of the latest and most advanced processor by Qualcomm to date. Google did launch its first generation Pixel phones with Snapdragon 821 instead of Snapdragon 820 last year.
Although the official names of second generation Pixel phones are still not official but it is expected that Google will launch two smartphones manufactured by two different companies. Pixel 2 XL which is the larger version is designed and manufactured by LG. It will be a slim bezel 5.99 inch device with 1440p OLED display, whereas the smaller version of Pixel 2 is being manufactured by HTC which will have a 4.97 inch 1080p OLED display. The HTC device will have larger top and bottom bezels in comparison with the LG device. Both the devices will have 4GB of RAM and squeezable frames which were first introduced with HTC U11.
