Now OnePlus 3 users can experience Android 7.1.1 by installing OxygenOS Open Beta 12 on their devices. OxygenOS Open Beta 12 is based on Android N 7.1.1. Users can experience several improvements like New Shot on OnePlus wallpapers, Gallery Improvements and some general bug fixes. User might experience some compatibility issues with some third party application since it is still a beta version. OnePlus has already started pushing OTA updates but it might take some time as OTA updates to arrive. If you are really excited about this update and cannot wait for the OTA update, you can update your OnePlus 3 and 3T by manually downloading and installing this OxygenOS Open Beta 12. The update is 1.48GB in size and can be downloaded from OnePlus Official Website.

Please read these precautions before starting the download. Flashing can result in loss of user data and might damage hardware if proper guidelines are not followed. You are advised to copy any personal data before flashing the update. You need to be on OxygenOS with original OnePlus 3 Oxygen Recovery. Once this ROM is installed you will have to flash back to official builds in order to receive and future OTAs.

Step 1: Download OxygenOS 12 for your device and make sure that you have the required adb files installed on your PC/Laptop. Also make sure “USB Debugging” is enabled.
Step 2: Copy the downloaded OxygenOS Beta 12 ROM in the same folder with adb files.
Step 3: Reboot your phone to recovery. You will have to power off the phone, then press the volume down key and while holding it press the power on button. Release the keys one you see the recovery screen.
Step 4: Once in recovery mode select “Install from USB” and tap OK to confirm. Once this is done you will see “You are in sideload mode” message on the screen.
Step 5: Connect your phone to the computer through original USB cable. Execute the following code through command prompt / terminal
Step 6: Once you see your device in the list execute the following code:
adb sideload <filename of downloaded OxygenOS Beta 12 ROM>
Step 7: Wait until the installation is completed and make sure the USB cable is not disconnected during the installation.
Step 8: Once the installation is completed you phone will reboot into OxygenOS. Now enjoy.
