The crowd at Nokia booth in MWC 2017 is a clear indication that there are still lots of Nokia fans. Nokia revealed its redesigned Nokia 3310 which caught much attention. Nokia also unveiled its three new android based mid range flagship smartphones Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6. Nokia 6 has already been launched in China and have been very successful. Nokia 6 handsets were sold out within a record time.
A new rumor by a Chinese site MyDrivers has reported that the HMD which is the company behind Nokia is working on a new flagship Nokia smartphone. It is expected that it will be Nokia 8 which is expected to be launched in June 2017.
According to a report by PocketNow the phone will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 process, 4GB and/or 6GB Ram. Nokia 8 is expected to have at least a 23 Megapixel camera with a full metal body case. Price of Nokia 8 is expected to start from 4000 yuan, approximately $580.
The Nokia 8 is expected to have a dual-camera but unfortunately according to reports it will not be Carl Zeiss or PureView. Nokia Carl Zeiss has been very popular in its phones Nokia Lumia 900, Lumia 800/c, N8 and N95. In fact Carl Zeiss was seen as a symbol of quality camera by Nokia fans and now doubt it produced high quality images.
We will have to wait for official announcement for specification. Nokia has already mentioned in their Twitter acount that “We’ve only just begun”, which is a clear indicator that we must expect more Nokia smartphones in 2017.
