After tons and tons of rumors the moment has come. Google officially unveiled its second generation of its flagship Pixel devices Pixel 2 and Pixel XL 2. Pixel 2 which much resembles to its predecessor shares some of the same design features but an improved processor and some other features. On the other hand the real beauty is the Pixel 2 XL which appears to be more unique then the previous Pixel XL with its 6 inch screen and bezel-less rounded corners which look similar to the Galaxy S8 .
The smaller device which is the Pixel 2 has adopted the same traditional 5-inch display, thick bezels and same old fashioned squared-off corners. The Pixel 2 comes in two variants 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage and the second one comes with 128GB internal storage. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor. The device uses an OLED screen with 1920×1080 pixels with improved deeper blacks and enhanced dynamic picture.
The Pixel 2 unlike its first generation is IP67 water and dust resistance which is a good improvement. Other features include a USB Type C, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, always on display which will allow users to view time, date, text message and other notification on the screen without requiring the user to touch or wake the device. Pixel 2 has a much improved fingerprint sensor, the case is made up of metal body but the camera and flash area comes with a chunk of glass on top.
Pixel 2 has also an enhanced 12MP rear camera with 98 DxO mark (which is the highest for any phone) and OIS and EIS for video recording which will result in much clear and smoother images. The device comes with a 2700mAh battery which can easily last for a whole day.
Pixel 2 runs stock Android 8.0 Oreo and has a new squeeze sensor feature which allows the user to communicate with the phone by squeezing the sides a feature borrowed from HTC’s U11. Pixel 2 starts at $649 and is ready for Pre-orders starting from today October 4, 2017. So folks would you like to replace your old phone with this stock powered Google device.
