Xiaomi has been very busy this week. Although Xiaomi maintained a low profile at MWC 2017, but they launched their flagship Xiaomi Mi 5C and Redmi 4X this week at a separate event in China. In the same week Xiaomi also made headlines with its first mobile phone processor Surge S1 (Pinecone). According to a report by Chinese-based site MyDrivers, Xiaomi already planning to launch its new flagship smartphone Xiaomi Mi 6. According to MyDrivers the phone will be unveiled in April 16, 2017.
It is expected that the new Mi 6 will be powered by a Snapdragon 835 processor. Xiaomi Mi 6 is claimed to be a 5.2 inch phone with LCD 2.5D glass display. Xiaomi Mi 6 will have a 19 megapixel camera which is already being used by Sony Xperia XZ premium. The source also mentioned the Xiaomi Mi 6 will come in three different variants. The entry level variant will come with 4GB Ram and 32GB internal storage. Mid level Xiaomi Mi 6 will have 4GB RAM with 64GB onboard memory. The top end variant will come with a ceramic body, 6GB RAM and 128GB internal memory. The phone will have a price around CNY 2,499 approximately $362.
Xiaomi which is also known as Apple of China has seen a slow growth in Chinese market. Chinese rivals like Huawei, Vivo and Oppo have already knocked out Xiaomi from top to fourth position in Chinese smartphone market. Xiaomi held the number one position for consecutive 5 years. If Xiaomi wants to regain its position it will have to launch some budget variants of its upcoming phones. Xiaomi has also started to target international markets and their international position is still unknown but it is becoming more and more popular in markets like India and Russia. Xiaomi Mi 6 will definitely be a device worth waiting and lets see what magic Xiaomi does this time.
